Oi Gente!! (hey people!!) First Night in Boston is a fabulous New Year event with hundreds of performances spread over downtown - opened with a Grand Procession and Firework display. Last night the temperature hovered just above freezing making for a very mild night (for Boston) to be out celebrating with hundreds of thousands of others.
I joined my fellow sambistas from the batucada Samba Tremeterra
for the parade. (I mean when do you get to dance and play samba all the
way through downtown Boston in front of crowds and crowds of people?)
It was so much fun!! Later, we gathered at a house party and kept on dancing until 4am...
Dance around!! Bang a drum!! The New Year is here!!
